BBNC has made the difficult decision to evacuate its office and staff from Nordberg due to escalating threats. Both the Northern Royal Guard (NRG) and the Coalition of Nordberg (CN) have targeted BBNC reporters and their families, effectively shutting down operations in the region.

Local managing editor Sigge Swenson has reported severe threats and violence, underscoring the dangerous environment for journalists. “I’ve been shot in the chest, my family was kidnapped, and I’ve been bribed to stay quiet about certain incidents, or else…” Swenson revealed. “There are quite a few things that I haven’t published, in fear of my safety.”

“Our reporter Andy Stone is also missing, we fear that he is dead or tortured” Swenson added. “Despite our effords to find him with the help of Northern Royal Guard, we couldn’t locate him”

These threats have forced many reporters into hiding or out of Nordberg altogether, compromising their ability to report on critical issues such as alleged war crimes and executions.
