MAD is doubling down with CN

During the latest conflict, Coalition of Nordberg sustained heavy losses, and the arrival of United Nations officers at its headquartes to apprehend the CN battalion commander Ari Salonen for trial did little to stabilise the situation. Despite these developments it appears that MAD is not fleeing the scene but rather reinforcing its presence in the area.

FreeNordbergPress military analysts are puzzled by the current events: “Usually a mercenary group like MAD would take the money and leave the area in such circumstances, especially when their employer is arrested. This time, however, we are seeing new subgroups of mercenaries arriving along with militia recruitment agencies initiating new hires to join the ranks in the conflict over the Halli region.”

MAD has also taken an unusually active role in the search for a new commander for the Coalition of Nordberg, prompting further questions:
-Is the new commander going to have as close ties to MAD as Mr Salonen had previously?
-Evidence of war crimes committed by Mr Salonen was so overwhelming and detailed that it raises the questions where the evidence originated from and wether it is entirely real or partially fabricated?
-Was it planned by MAD all along to sacrifice Mr Salonen?
-Was all this just a public stunt intented to seemingly purify MAD’s reputation as an organisation?

Our military analysts have their assesments of the regrouping: “MAD must continue to see some underlying assets or strategic advantages in controlling the Halli region that we don’t know yet. But one thing is certain: if MAD is still around fighting alongside the Coalition of Nordberg, there is money to be made.”

MAD is a private military contractor army (PMC).
MAD stands for Mechanised Assault Detachment because of their history as a mainly mechanised assault force in the military. Nowadays MAD consists of smaller PMC groups joining forces to act as one bigger unit.
MAD is usually hired for missions that no other PMC companies dare to take, ranging from active war zones to areas where conflict is inevitable.
