Ways to acquire new license for firearm or for hunting and fishing purposes.
Firearm License
- Fill a application document at Padasjoki County Sheriff’s Office
- Authority will start process to look into application. This can take from 30 minutes to 3 hours.
- If you want to speed up the process, you can pay a small fee
- If your application is approved, you will get the firearm license
- If your application isn’t approved, you won’t get the firearm license.
- Before handing over approve license, authority might want interview an applicant to make sure information matches with pre-filled application. This is purely for safety reasons!
- Get your the firearm license!
- Now you are allowed to carry firearms in a residental area, but note that weapon must be kept holstered or on your back. Magazine removed from a weapon when in residental area.
- If you use weapon in armed crime or you threat someone with it, you loose your weapon permission and authorities will confiscate your weapon.
- If you have your weapon confiscated, it will be marked with red tape which indicates weapon isn’t with player and therefore it cannot be used until acquired again
- Confiscated weapon cannot be used for four hours after having it confiscated. If you want use carry a weapon, get another one.
- Keep your weapon license with you at all times! If you don’t have license, your weapon will be confiscated!
Hunting and Fishing License

- If you need this license for a living purposes, it will be processed hastily.
- Before handing over approve license, authority might want interview an applicant to make sure information matches with pre-filled application. This is purely for safety reasons!
- Get your hunting and fishing license! Note that you still need firearm license to carry firearm.
- You must follow guidelines set by local sheriff about which game you can hunt, and where.
- Keep your license with you all the time! If you don’t have license, and you hunt or fish, you can be fined or sentenced to a prison time.
